The city or agent will make inspections of any and all work done from the water pit or curb stop to the outside edge of the dwelling. Inspections must be done during Water Department staff hours or an overtime fee will be charged. The inspection will be conducted within two hours of an appointment (staff working hours only). The purpose of the inspections will be to prevent unsafe or hazardous conditions and improper plumbing standards which might contaminate or endanger the water supply. If the inspection reveals unsafe or hazardous conditions, the city and/or agent will not allow water service until proper steps have been taken to correct the problem. If the inspection finds that damage has been caused to the city water system by the person working on the system, said system shall be repaired to the satisfaction of the city.
