The water distribution system includes all wells, reservoirs, mains, laterals, filters, streams, trenches, pipes, drains, machinery, structures, equipment, meters, hydrants, apparatus and other requisites used in or necessary for the construction, maintenance and operation of the existing waterworks system originally established and as it may be extended, improved, maintained and operated.
