The Mayor shall sign all commissions, licenses and permits granted by the authority of the Council and shall sign or certify to such other documents or papers as may be required by law or this code, except to the extent the City Council has passed a resolution directing some other city official to sign said documents or papers. The Mayor shall also perform such other duties compatible with the nature of his or her office as may be required by the provisions of this code or direction of the Council.
