§ 94.48 PERMIT REQUIRED.
   Special permission may be granted to persons, firm, or corporations for the purchase of fireworks, as defined in § 94.45, and their use for a supervised public display, providing an application in writing is filed with the Chief of the Fire Department at least 15 days in advance of the date of the display, setting forth the name of the applicant and the time and place of the exhibition. The Chief of the Fire Department, on being satisfied the applicant will use the fireworks in a supervised public exhibition, and being satisfied that the display is of a reasonably safe character, and will be located, discharged, or fired after proper inspection so as not to be hazardous to property or to endanger any person, and that all reasonable precautions will be exercised with regard to the protection of the lives and property of all persons, may issue a permit which shall permit the use of fireworks at the time and place set out in the application. Every display shall be handled by a competent operator to be approved by the Chief of the Fire Department. It is provided further that no permit shall be issued as provided for above, unless the applicant shall give bond, deemed adequate by the Chief of the Fire Department, in a sum not less than $10,000 conditioned for the payment of all damages which may be caused thereby either to a person or to property by reason of the permitted display and arising from any acts of the permit holder, his/her agents, employees, or subcontractors.
