For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CONTRACTOR. Any one or more persons, firms, or corporations having a contractual relationship with the town for the collection and disposition of garbage, or the employees or officials of the town collection and disposing of garbage in the event a contact is not let for that work.
GARBAGE.
(1) Any table matter that results in the preparation and use of meat, fish, fowl, fruit, or vegetable matter; tin cans; glass cans; bottles; and crockery which has been used as food or beverage holders;
(2) Any material resulting from ordinary household operations, including such items as cans, glass, bottles, paper, magazines, newsprint, boxes, rags, and small cartons; and
(3) Excluded from GARBAGE, and the related term REFUSE, are such items as large boxes; furniture; appliances; springs; articles too large for packer-type trucks; refrigerants; medications; tires; batteries; oil-based paints; antifreeze; car fluids; fertilizer; aerosol cans; fire extinguishers; radioactive materials; explosives; chemicals; hot ashes; televisions; phone equipment; computer equipment; stereo equipment; all types of debris resulting from repairing or remodeling any building such as dirt, wood, plaster, roofing, pipes, cement blocks, broken concrete or stones; and, all lawn cuttings, leaves, shrubbery, tree trimmings, dead animals, and animal excrement.
OWNER. Any person, trust, firm, corporation, or association owning, occupying, using, or inhabiting any premises for residence, business, or other purposes within the corporate boundaries of the town.
RESIDENCE. A single-family dwelling or a multi-family dwelling located within the corporate boundaries of the town.
TOWN. The Town of Fremont, Indiana.
