§ 34.10 TELEWORK POLICY.
The town finds it necessary to provide for telework or sometimes referred to as work from home or remote work in order to maintain a healthy and safe working environment. From time to time, an employee may also be unable to report to work for reasons beyond the employee's control. An employee who would benefit from telework must first discuss this need with his/her department head. Approval and duration of telework is the responsibility of the Town Council President, in coordination with the department head and Clerk-Treasurer. Unless directed to work from home from their direct supervisor, Town Council President and Clerk-Treasurer, an employee requesting permission to telework will be required to submit documentation evidencing the need to telework and subject to the required paperwork and documentation. There is no promise or guarantee that a request to telework will be granted. Requests are reviewed on a case by case basis and subject to local ordinance, state statute and federal law. It is within the town's discretion to direct employees who can perform telework.
