A. Operation On Sundays:
1. It shall be lawful to conduct properly conducted games of baseball within the City limits upon Sunday; provided, the consent of the City Council shall be first had during such hours as they may provide. (1935 Code § 26; amd. Ord. 1, 8-1-1967)
2. It shall be lawful for any restaurant, hotel, drug store, confectionery, service station, or convenience store to remain open on Sunday, during the same hours as on weekdays. (1935 Code § 27; amd. initiative election, 11-7-1989)
B. Dance Halls; Lounges; Pool Halls; Circuses; Carnivals:
1. It shall be unlawful for any dance hall, lounge, pool hall, opera, circus, carnival attraction of any kind, whether indoors or out, to remain open after the hour of twelve o'clock (12:00) midnight, of any day, until the hour of seven o'clock (7:00) A.M. the following day, nor shall any of such places remain open at any time between the hour of twelve o'clock (12:00) midnight on Saturday and the hour of seven o'clock (7:00) A.M. the following Monday morning; provided, however, that upon due application to the City Council, the said Council may grant a special dispensation on special holidays to such places to remain open for a specified time after said closing hour, under proper safeguards to maintain the peace; and provided, further, that under no circumstances shall said place or any of them be permitted to run over, into or upon the day known as Sunday.
2. When such closing hour shall have arrived, all customers within any of the places enumerated above shall be required to vacate such places, and any person refusing to vacate such places shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. (1935 Code § 25; amd. Ord. 1, 8-1-1967)
