(A) Any golf cart operating on a public street or alley within the city must be registered with the city through the Frankfort Police Department prior to use within the city. The license registration shall be effective for one year.
(B) At the time of registration, the owner shall present the golf cart to the Frankfort Police Department for inspection.
(C) If the golf cart passes inspection, the owner shall pay a registration fee to the Police Department of $50 annually and shall provide proof of liability insurance/financial responsibility in an amount not less than the minimum required by Indiana law for motor vehicles, at which time a registration sticker will be issued. Proof of insurance and the registration shall be maintained in the golf cart at all times and the registration sticker shall be displayed on the rear driver side of the golf cart at all times.
(D) All registration fees collected pursuant to this chapter shall be deposited into the Police Equipment Fund maintained by the city.
