The holder of any permit granting permission to dig, excavate, or remove pavement in any street, alley, sidewalk, or public place as provided in this subchapter shall complete the work and repair the place or places where the work was done within the time specified in such permit. The City Building Inspector, however, may extend the time for completion of the work for which the permit was granted and any such extension shall be noted on the original permit on file in the City Clerk's Office.
