(A) Thirty-day electrical safety inspections. Any structure having a disconnection or disruption of electrical service for a period of 30 continuous days or more shall require a 30-day electrical safety inspection by the Office of the Frankfort Building Inspector prior to reconnection of electrical service by city Light and Power Department personnel.
(B) Inspection requirements. Each 30-day electrical safety inspection shall require that, prior to service being reconnected, all electrical service components meet local and state building and property maintenance code standards including those specifications relating to meter base, weather head, ground rod and ground wire, panel box (service entrance panel) and disconnect boxes.
(C) Thirty-day electrical safety permit. If the Building Inspection determines that any required electrical components do not meet the standards for connection of electrical service under the applicable local and state building and property maintenance codes, such electrical service shall be tagged-out to prevent reconnection, the property owner shall be required to apply for and receive a 30- day electrical safety permit from the Office of the Building Inspector assuming that all code standards have been met, prior to reconnection of the electrical service.
(D) Inspection fees. Each inspection and re-inspection performed by an employee of the Building Inspector’s Office for the purpose of reconnection of electrical service following disconnection or disruption of service in excess of 30 days, shall be subject to an inspection fee to be paid by the owner of the property in such amount as is established in § 156.14, as may be amended from time to time. All requested inspections must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance of the inspection. If an owner schedules an inspection and fails to appear and to assist in the inspection, the owner shall nevertheless, be liable for payment of the inspection or re-inspection fee.
