§ 100.36  DEFINITIONS.
   General. The following words and terms shall, for the purposes of this subchapter and as stated elsewhere in this code, have the meanings shown herein, unless such term is otherwise defined by the rules of the Commission. In the event, the definitions contained in the rules of the Commission shall govern. (Definitions shall refer to the code in effect at the time of construction, installation, or alteration.)
   HABITABLE SPACE. Space in a structure for living, sleeping, eating or cooking. Bathrooms, toilet compartments, closets, halls, storage or utility spaces, and similar areas are not considered HABITABLE SPACES.
   OPENABLE AREA. That portion of a window or door which is available for unobstructed ventilation and which opens directly to the outdoors.
   VENTILATION. The natural or mechanical process of supplying conditioned air to, or removing such air from, any space.
