§ 100.35  GENERAL.
   (A)   Scope. The provisions of this subchapter shall govern the current minimum conditions and standards for ventilation, basic equipment and facilities. Subject to the rules of the Commission any buildings or equipment constructed or installed under a prior code shall be maintained in conformance with the rules of the Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission or its predecessors.
   (B)   Responsibility. The owner of the structure shall provide and maintain light, ventilation, basic equipment and facilities in compliance with these requirements. A person shall not occupy as owner-occupant, or permit another person to occupy any premises that do not comply with the requirements of this subchapter.
   (C)   Alternative devices. In lieu of the means for natural light and ventilation herein prescribed, artificial light or mechanical ventilation shall be permitted.
