(A) Open burning, cooking, and recreational fires are permitted in residential occupancies under the following conditions:
(1) Only clean natural growth wood, charcoal, natural gas, propane, alcohol type fuel (sterno) or other approved fuel is used.
(2) The fire is at least 50 feet from any structure for any burning that is not a recreational fire. Recreational fires shall be at least 25 feet from any structure.
(3) The fire is in a non-combustible enclosure.
(4) The fire is attended at all times by a responsible person.
(5) An adequate means of extinguishment is present.
(6) The physical dimensions of the fire does not exceed three feet across and two feet high.
(7) No complaints are received by the Fire Department.
(B) Cooking on any flame-producing device is prohibited on decks, balconies, under roof overhangs.
(C) No burning shall be conducted during unfavorable weather conditions, drought, temperature inversion or windy conditions. If sparks, embers or brands capable of starting a secondary fire are being carried aloft, a metal screen with openings no larger than one-quarter inch must be provided or the fire must be extinguished.
