(A) For the purpose of prescribing regulations to protect lives and property from the hazards of fire and explosion, the most current edition of the Indiana Fire Code adopted by the Commission by I.C. 22-13-2-2, is hereby adopted by the city including any amendments and appendices thereto. The provisions of the Fire Prevention Code shall be controlling within the corporate limits of the city, and the fire protection zones outside the city with whom the city has protection contracts.
(B) There shall be maintained in the following offices copies of the Fire Prevention Code:
(1) One in the office of City Clerk-Treasurer.
(2) One in the office of the City Engineer.
(3) One in the office of the Chief of the Fire Department.
