It shall be unlawful for any peddler, solicitor or canvasser to cheat, deceive or fraudulently misrepresent, whether through himself or through an employee or agent, while acting as a peddler, solicitor or canvasser in the village, or to barter, sell or peddle any goods, merchandise or wares or to solicit funds, take surveys or polls other than those specified in his application for a license.
