6-1-7: COURT APPEARANCES; WITNESS FEES:
Every member of the police department shall appear as a witness whenever this is necessary in a prosecution for a violation of an ordinance or any state or federal law, but no such member shall receive or retain any witness fee for service as a witness in any action or suit to which the village is a party. All fees due for such services, if paid, shall be turned over to the chief of police, who shall deposit the same with the village treasurer. The foregoing provisions do not relate to the payment of compensation by the village for court appearances made on behalf of the village. (Ord. 80-3, 5-13-1980)
