(A) It is the intent and purpose of this Chapter to establish an organization that will insure the complete and efficient utilization of all of the Village's facilities to combat disaster resulting from enemy actions or other disasters as defined herein, in accordance with the "Illinois Emergency Services and Disaster Act of 1975".
(B) The Village of Forest View Emergency Services and Disaster Agency will be the coordinating agency for all activity in connection with emergency preparedness; it will be the instrument through which the Director may exercise, the authority and discharge the responsibilities vested in him by law.
(C) This Chapter shall not relieve any Village Department of the responsibilities or authority given to it by law, nor will it adversely affect the work of any volunteer agency organized for relief in disaster emergencies. (Ord. 78-21, 6-20-1978)
