§ 34.10 TRAVEL ALLOWANCE.
   Any employee of the city may attend at the expense of the city, any conference, meeting or convention relating to municipal affairs, if authorized by the City Manager and if the Director of Finance certifies that funds are appropriate and available for such purposes. All requests for such allowances shall be made in writing to the City Manager, showing the necessity for such attendance and an estimate of the costs to the city at a reasonable period of time in advance. Current mileage allowances will be permitted for use of privately owned vehicles. The City Manager shall establish administrative guidelines to permit the reimbursement of employees for properly documented meal expenses, including gratuities, that are incurred during the course of conducting city business.
