(A) The Chief Fire Executive shall be appointed by the City Manager with the consent of City Council.
(B) The Chief Fire Executive shall be responsible for the operation of the Fire Department. He/she shall be the commanding officer of all personnel, including contracted personnel, and shall have control of assignment, training, stationing, and direction of work of all personnel and department services, including any contracted by the city.
(C) The Chief Fire Executive shall be responsible for such other activities and duties as may be assigned by the City Manager.
