§ 150.02 UNIFORM NUMBERING SYSTEM FOR STREETS AND NUMBERING PROPERTIES AND BUILDINGS.
   (A)   Uniform naming and numbering system. A uniform system of naming streets and numbering properties and principal buildings, as shown in the manual of procedures identified by the title Uniform Street Naming and Property Numbering System, which if filed in the County Courthouse is adopted for use in Forest Lake. This map and all explanatory matter thereon is adopted and made apart of this section.
   (B)   Assignment of names and numbers.
      (1)   All properties of parcels of land within the city shall hereafter be identified by reference to the uniform numbering system adopted herein, provided all existing numbers of property and buildings not now in conformity with provisions of this section shall be changed to conform to the system herein adopted within 6 months from the date of passage of this section. The names of all streets in the city shall be as designated by the Uniform Street Naming System.
      (2)   Each principal building shall bear the number assigned to the frontage on which the front entrance is located. In case a principal building is occupied by more than 1 business or family dwelling unit, each separate front entrance of the principal building shall bear a separate number.
      (3)   Numerals indicating the official numbers for each principal building or each front entrance to the building shall be posted in a manner as to be visible from the street on which the property is located.
   (C)   Administration.
      (1)   The Building Inspector shall be responsible for maintaining the numbering system. In the performance of this responsibility he or she shall be guided by the provisions of division (B) of this section.
      (2)   The City Clerk shall keep a record of all numbers assigned under this section.
      (3)   The City Clerk shall assign to any property owner in the city upon request of a number for each principal building or separate front entrance to such building. In doing so, he or she shall assign only the numbers assigned to the building under the provisions of this section; provided, however, that the Recorder may assign additional numerals in accord with the official numbering system whenever a property has been subdivided, a new front entrance opened, or undue hardship has been worked on any property owner.
      (4)   Street names in existence prior to the passage of the ordinance set forth in this section may be retained subject to approval by the City Council.
   (D)   Penalties. Violation of this section shall be a misdemeanor and may be punished as set forth in § 10.99. Each separate day the violation is continued shall constitute a separate offense.
