(B) No wall sign shall extend into the public way more than eight inches. No sign projected into the public way may, at its lowest point, be less than nine feet above the level of the public way. However, if the sign is illuminated, the lighting apparatus may project six feet over the public way, but in no case shall they be nearer than two feet to any area receiving motor vehicle traffic (parking lots, alleys, drives). Such wall signs must be safely and adequately attached to the building to which they are secured.
