(a) All hourly employees except seasonal employees shall be entitled to overtime pay or compensatory time off for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours.
(1) Overtime shall be paid at the rate of 1½ times the hourly rate.
(2) Compensatory time shall be granted at the rate of 1½ times the hours worked which are in excess of forty (40) hours.
(3) Accrued compensatory time off shall not exceed 240 time and one-half hours (160 overtime hours worked).
(4) Seasonal employees shall be paid straight time for all hours worked.
(b) Vacation days, sick leave days, holidays, funeral leave days, and hours or days in attendance in schools, seminars, and other educational meetings which are paid but not worked shall not be considered in computing excess hours for overtime pay or compensatory time off.
(c) When an employee's vacation days, sick leave days, holidays, funeral leave days, and hours or days in attendance in schools, seminars, and other educational meetings reduce total hours worked in a basic work week to less than forty (40) hours, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays shall be paid at a straight-time rate.
(d) Policemen, the Tax Administrator, and office assistants shall not work overtime or take compensatory time off without the prior approval of the Mayor or, in the absence of the Mayor, without the prior approval of the Village Administrator.
(e) Water Plant, Maintenance, Service, and Street personnel shall not work overtime or take compensatory time off without the prior approval of the Village Administrator or, in the absence of the Village Administrator, without the prior approval of the Mayor.
