(A) The most current version of the International Fire Code with South Carolina modifications (Fire Prevention Code) shall govern fire prevention and protection in the city, except as modified by this code of ordinances.
(B) In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the Fire Prevention Code and any more restrictive provisions of this code of ordinances or state law, the provisions of this code or state law shall control.
(C) The City Council may grant variances to modify any of the provisions of this chapter, if recommended by the Building Official or the Resident Fire Marshal.
