§ 95.48 NOTICE OF VIOLATION; PUNISHMENT.
   In discharging their duties under this chapter, the animal services officer and police officers are hereby empowered to issue citation to any person if there is probable cause to believe that he or she has violated any of the provisions of this chapter. A citation so issued may be delivered in person to the alleged violator by the animal services officer or any member of the Police Department or they may be mailed, certified, return receipt requested to the person so charged, if he or she cannot be readily found. Any notice or citation so delivered or mailed shall direct the alleged violator to appear at the Municipal Court on a specific day and hour named in the notice, or pay the fine in lieu of appearing in court.
