§ 19-102  REMOVAL AND DISPOSITION OF VEHICLES PARKED IN VIOLATION.
   When any vehicle shall hereinafter be parked or left standing contrary to the provisions of this ordinance, such vehicle may be removed by or under the direction of any member of the Police Department to a place or places in the City of Flint to be designated by the Chief of Police, and it shall be the duty of any police officer so removing or causing to be removed any such vehicle to make a report thereof in writing and in duplicate, stating the make of such vehicle, the manufacturer’s number of the motor therein, if any, and the State license number thereon, and file the same with the clerk of the Police Department of the City, and any person owning or entitled to the possession of such vehicle so removed, may thereafter obtain possession thereof, by paying a fee to the Clerk of the Police Department. Said fee shall be established form time to time by resolution of the City Council, kept on file by the City Clerk, and contained in Appendix A of the City Code. It shall be the duty of any such clerk collecting any such fee to issue a receipt therefor, in duplicate, stating the make, manufacturer’s number of the motor, if any, and State license number, together with the name of the owner or person entitled to the possession thereof, one of which shall be handed by said clerk to the person paying the same, and the other of such receipts shall be filed in the office of such clerk, and as soon thereafter as may be, such clerk shall pay to the Treasurer of the City of Flint, the amount so collected, taking the Treasurer’s receipt therefor and filing the same in the office of such clerk; any such vehicle which shall remain in the custody of the Police Department for a period exceeding one week and shall not have been reclaimed, shall be deemed lost or abandoned and upon notice from the Chief of Police, the City Clerk shall give notice in the official newspaper of the City of Flint, for six successive weeks, after which the same shall be sold at auction, under the direction of the Chief of Police, and the monies received from such sale, after deducting the cost of removal, storage, and sale thereof, shall be deposited with the Treasurer of the City of Flint, to be paid to the person, company or corporation entitled thereto, upon evidence of ownership satisfactory to the Chief of Police, Mayor and City Clerk.
