Every elective officer and every appointee before entering on official duties shall take and subscribe the following oath:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the constitutions of the United States and the State of Michigan and the Charter of the City of Flint and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office on behalf of all the citizens of the City to the best of my ability,”
and shall file that oath, duly certified by the officer before whom it was taken, in the office of the City Clerk.
