   (A)   The Street Department shall have lines or markings painted or placed on the curb or on the street adjacent to each parking spot for the purpose of designating each parking space for which a regulatory device is to be used and each vehicle parked adjacent or next to any regulatory device shall park within the lines or marking so established. It shall be unlawful and a violation of this section to park any vehicle across any line or marking or to park the vehicle in a position so that the vehicle shall not be entirely within the area so designated by the lines.
   (B)   When a parking space in any metered zone is parallel with the adjacent curb or sidewalk, any vehicle parked in the parking space shall be parked so that the foremost part of the vehicle shall be nearest to the parking meter.
   (C)   When a vehicle shall be parked in any space adjacent to which a regulatory device is located, in accordance with this section the operator of the vehicle shall, upon entering the parking space, immediately deposit or cause to be deposited a United States Coin in the parking meter. Failure to deposit the coin shall constitute a breach of this section and shall subject the person to the penalty described in § 72.99. Upon depositing the coin and placing the meter in operation, the parking space may be lawfully occupied by the vehicle during the period of parking time which has been prescribed for the part of the street on which the parking space is located. If the vehicle shall remain parked in the parking space beyond the parking time limit for the parking space and the parking meter shall by its dial and pointer indicate illegal parking, the vehicle shall be considered parked overtime and beyond the period of legal parking time. The parking of the vehicle overtime or beyond the period of legal parking time in any part of a street where any meter is located shall be a violation of this section and punished as set out in § 72.99.
   (D)   It shall be unlawful and a violation of the provisions of this section for any person or operator to cause, allow, permit, or suffer any vehicle registered in the name of or operated by the person or operator to be parked overtime or beyond the period as designated by the regulatory device.
   (E)   It shall be unlawful and a violation of the provisions of this section for any person to permit a vehicle to remain or be placed in any parking space adjacent to any regulatory device which said device is displaying a signal indicating that the vehicle occupying space has already been parked beyond the period of time prescribed for the parking space.
   (F)   It shall be unlawful and a violation of the provisions of this section to deposit or cause to be deposited in any parking meter any slug, device, or metallic substitute, or any other substitute for a coin of the United States.
   (G)   It shall be unlawful and a violation of the provisions of this section for any person to deface, injure, tamper with, open or willfully break, destroy, or impair the usefulness of any regulatory device installed under the provisions of this section.
