§ 31.018 COVERAGE AND EXPENSES; ASSIGNED ITEMS.
   (A)   A police reserve is not covered by medical treatment, burial expense and workers’ compensation with the town, pursuant to state law. Any Police Reserves applicant shall be responsible for payment, at his or her own expense, for any and all costs and expenses associated with the completion of a pre- basic course as required by I.C. 36-8-3-20 and I.C. 5-2-1-9(f) and as provided by all other applicable law. All police reserves shall wear the same uniform as regular members of the Police Department. The police reserves shall furnish their own uniforms, subject to § 31.019(A), and other necessary equipment without reimbursement from the town.
   (B)   No individual shall wear a uniform after termination as a police reserve or while not being on duty with the town as a police reserve. All items assigned by the town to a police reserve, if applicable, shall remain the sole property of the town, and if misused or neglected or otherwise damaged, the town shall reserve the right to collect replacement of such items, or any other proper damages, from the police reserve.
