ADOPTING ORDINANCE
ORDINANCE NO. 181
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE OFFICIAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF FARMINGTON; PROVIDING FOR THE CONTINUANCE IN EFFECT OF ALL GENERAL LAWS IN EFFECT ON THE DATE OF SUCH ADOPTION; PROVIDING FOR THE CONTINUATION OF ALL SPECIAL ORDINANCES NOT INCLUDED IN THE OFFICIAL CODE AND PROVIDING FOR THE REGULAR SUPPLEMENTATION OF THE OFFICIAL VILLAGE CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED By the Mayor and Council of the Village of Farmington, Minnesota:
Section 1: Pursuant to the provisions of Section 412.191, Subdivision 5 of the Minnesota Statutes, from and after the date of passage of this Ordinance, the Village Code of the Village of Farmington, prepared by Sterling Codifiers, Inc. under the direction of the Council of the Village containing all ordinances of a general nature in effect at the time of such codification and said Code shall be accepted in all courts without question as the Official Code and Law of the Village as enacted by the President and Village Council.
Section 2: There is hereby adopted, as a method of perpetual codification, the loose leaf type of binding together with the continuous supplement service provided by Sterling Codifiers, Inc., whereby each newly adopted ordinance of a general and permanent nature amending, altering, adding to or deleting provisions of the Official Village Code is identified by the proper catch line and is inserted in the proper place in each of the official copies. Each such new provision shall become effective upon the passage of the ordinance and the insertion of the proper replacement pages in the copies of the Code, three (3) copies of which shall be maintained in the office of the Clerk, certified as to correctness and available for inspection at any and all times that said office is regularly open.
Section 3: All ordinances of a general nature included in this Official Village Code shall be considered as a continuation of said ordinance provision and the fact that some provisions have been deliberately eliminated by the Council shall not serve to cause any interruption in the continuous effectiveness of ordinances included in said Official Village Code.
