The fire marshal shall be appointed by the city council upon the recommendation of the fire chief and the city administrator. The fire marshal shall be supervised by the fire chief and shall carry out duties and responsibilities as provided by the city council. The fire chief shall perform the duties of fire marshal in the fire marshal's absence and may be assigned the duties of fire marshal by the city council. (Ord. 014-671, 11-17-2014)
