(A) The city purchases insurance for health insurance and dental insurance. Currently, rates are determined by the insurance plan based on all expenses associated with coverage and allocated between single and family coverages; and are reviewed and approved by Council for a July 1st effective date.
(B) The city may pay 100% of individual employee premiums for those employees and 50% of their immediate family members participating in the city's insurance plan. This insurance program may be altered by the City Council based on the city's ability to maintain the costs of the program.
