§ 30.031 CITY COUNCIL.

The City Council shall be elected at large and shall consist of a Mayor and four Councilmembers according to ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, § 5-2-12. The powers of the council or board shall be purely legislative, except as may be otherwise provided by state law. The council shall approve for payment of all expenses and liabilities of the municipality (ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, § 5-3-6).
