347.07 BOND TO INDEMNIFY CITY.
   As a further consideration for the granting of any special permit provided for in Section 347.01, and to further secure the City in the payment of the excessive cost of repairs and maintenance provided in Section 347.06, Council or the City Manager and Director of Public Works may require the applicant for any such permit, or the owner or operator of any such heavy tractor, commercial vehicle or other heavy vehicle to enter into a bond, in such penalty and with such surety as Council or the City Manager and the Director of Public Works shall deem sufficient, and conditioned to indemnify and save the City harmless from any damage which the City may sustain or incur from any use by the applicant for such special permit, or the owner or operator of any such tractor, commercial vehicle or other heavy vehicle, to any street or alley in the City by reason of such heavy loading or unusual traffic to such an extent that the cost of repairs or maintenance thereof would be more than the average cost of repairs or maintenance of other streets or alleys of like kind and construction in the City.
