§ 52.009 UNLAWFUL INTERFERENCE OF DOGS AND OTHER ANIMALS WITH THE GAS SYSTEM BELONGING TO THE CITY.
   (A)   It is unlawful for any person, firm, corporation or customer to tie or leash any dog or other animal to any meter, regulator, service pipe or other gas service equipment or facilities of the city gas system.
   (B)   It is further unlawful for any person, firm, corporation or customer (collectively hereinafter referred to as the “customer”) to harbor a dog or other animal in an enclosed or fenced area within which lies the city gas meter or gas service connections of the city with its customers where the dog or other animal shall interfere with the city gas system personnel reading meters or maintaining gas facilities. The customer may be allowed to maintain an enclosed or fenced area for their dog or animal, if the customer, at the customer’s own cost, installs or has installed a utility meter that may be read remotely. However, all authorized agents or employees of the city shall still have free access to the customer’s premises at all reasonable hours for the purpose of performing maintenance work, examining, inspecting, repairing, replacing, exchanging, testing or removing meters or other equipment.
   (C)   The city shall have the right to terminate gas service to any person, firm or corporation or customer who shall violate any provision of this section.
