The Chief of Police and Assistant Chief of Police shall each be required to enter into a bond to the city in the penal sum of $1,000 with security to be approved by the City Council conditioned for the faithful performance of their duties as those officers and to keep the city harmless from all damage caused by neglect or breach of their official duty.
