§ 34.02 APPOINTMENTS.

The Chief of Police and the Assistant Chief of Police shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council, and may or may not be appointed from the members of the Police Department. All other appointments to or promotions within the Police Department shall be made by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners as provided by law.
