153.01 MILITARY SERVICE CREDIT ABOLISHED.

   The provisions of Ohio R.C. 124.23 establishing a preference of twenty percent (20%) of the applicant's total grade for applicants with military service for classified civil service positions with the City are hereby abolished pursuant to Section 8.04(E) of the City Charter. No preference will be given to applicants with military service on eligibility lists established by the Civil Service Commission after the effective date of this section except applicants whose scores include a preference for military service and which scores are used in the merger of two eligibility lists into a new eligibility list. This section shall not affect any eligibility list or the score of any applicant which was approved by the Fairfield Civil Service Commission prior to the effective date of this section.
