SECTION 2.03 CONSECUTIVE TERMS.
   No Mayor or Councilperson shall serve more than two consecutive four-year terms in the same office. After serving eight consecutive years in the same office, an elected official is ineligible to serve in that office for a period of two years. In no case shall any elected official serve longer than sixteen consecutive years as Mayor and Councilperson in any combination of the offices. After serving sixteen consecutive years in any combination of the offices, an elected official is ineligible to serve in either office for a period of two years. Time served in filling a vacancy or unexpired term shall not be used to determine whether an elected official is ineligible due to serving eight consecutive years in the same office or sixteen consecutive years in any combination of the offices.
