The Commissioner of Buildings shall examine each application for a permit and the plans, specifications, computations and other data filed therewith and shall ascertain by such examination whether the construction indicated and described is in accordance with the requirements of this Code and other pertinent laws, ordinances, rules and regulations. When permits are required from other administrative officers or agencies, he or she shall promptly transmit or cause to be transmitted all pertinent data for action by such administrative officers or agencies, and shall be the coordinating officer in the handling of such applications, plans, specifications, data and permits.
