10-9-1: PURPOSE:

   A.   To minimize or avoid the effect and hardship of potential water supply shortages to the greatest extent possible, this title establishes the means and authority to:

      1.   Reduce water consumption long-term through permanent, outdoor water use restrictions, and short-term through additional water demand mitigation actions;

      2.   Enable effective water supply reliability planning;

      3.   Assure reasonable and beneficial use of water;

      4.   Ensure adequate supplies of water are available for essential uses during times of water shortage; and

      5.   Prevent waste of water and ensure water use efficiency. (Ord. 158-2023, 7-27-2023)

10-9-2: SCOPE:

This chapter applies to all Municipal water customers of the Town, wherever situated, to the extent legally permissible. (Ord. 158-2023, 7-27-2023)
