232.03 SEVERANCE PAY.
In the event the City Manager's employment is terminated by Council after the first six months of his or her service and during such time that the Manager is willing to perform the duties of Manager, then in that event the Manager shall receive severance pay as prescribed by the terms and conditions of the Manager's contract. However, in the event the Manager's employment is terminated because of his or her conviction for any illegal act involving personal gain to him or her, then, in that event, no such severance pay shall be paid.
In the event Council at any time reduces the compensation or other benefits of the Manager in a greater percentage than an across-the-board reduction for all City employees, or in the event the Manager resigns following a suggestion, whether formal or informal, by a majority of Council, that he or she resign, then in that event the Manager may, at his or her option, be deemed to be terminated at the date of such reduction or suggestion within the meaning and intent of this severance pay provision.
