(a) The elected Chairperson without any additional compensation therefor, shall delegate to and solicit such member(s) as are necessary to carry out and perform the powers and duties of the DEI Committee as provided by ordinances, and the powers of Council.
(b) Council shall provide to the Human Resources Department such funds and employees as it determines are necessary for the Human Resources Department to carry out and perform said powers and duties of the DEI Committee Chair to oversee and to provide education, training, materials, or organizational events to facilitate the City's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Action Plan.
(1) The Chairperson (or Vice-Chairperson in the absence of the Chairperson) shall preside over all regular meetings or Executive Board Meetings.
(2) Voting cannot be held unless a quorum, which is a majority of voting members, are present.
(3) All members, with the exception of any ex-officio member, are eligible to vote.
(4) Any member that is present at a meeting, and elects to abstain from voting on a certain matter, shall be counted as present in order to constitute a quorum or majority for voting purposes.
