In accordance with R.C. § 124.41, City Council establishes that no person shall be eligible to receive an original appointment to the Elyria Police Department as a patrol officer, in accordance with R.C. § 124.41, unless said person has reached the age of twenty-one and has not reached the age of forty prior to the application deadline date for the patrol officer exam.
