If, on inspection by a representative or inspector of the Police or Fire Department of the village of any dwelling house, hotel, rooming house, furnished room, or any place where the same is used for sleeping quarters or as a bathroom, there is in use or intended for use any stove, heater, or plate burning gas for space heating that is not properly vented to a chimney or outside vent, approved by the Fire Department, the inspector, or representative of the Police or Fire Department shall give notice to the occupant or occupants of the quarters to immediately cause the unvented stove, heater plate, or other equipment to be shut off and disconnected with proper capping.
