§ 71.11 RESTRICTION ON CERTAIN VEHICLES.
   (A)   The Council may establish weight limits and restrictions for certain roads and streets by resolution.
   (B)   Except as provided below, commercial vehicle traffic is prohibited on designated streets in the City of El Mirage. The Chief of Police is hereby empowered to determine which streets shall be designated pursuant to this chapter and to post signs prohibiting commercial vehicle traffic.
   (C)   Commercial vehicles may operate on the streets only for the delivery and pickup of merchandise, materials, or equipment going to or from a specific location on the streets or for municipal purposes. Commercial vehicles must use the shortest and most direct route on the streets.
   (D)   For the purpose of this section, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
      COMMERCIAL VEHICLE. Any vehicle used for commercial purposes, whether or not in use as such at the particular time of an offense under this chapter, having a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or more.
      STREET. The entire width between the boundary lines of every right-of-way including the improved or unimproved shoulder or berm thereto.
