There is hereby established, in and for the Borough, a Borough Planning Commission, composed of five members, appointed as provided by law. The Borough Planning Commission shall perform all the duties and may exercise all the powers vested by law in borough planning agencies. However, the Borough Planning Commission in office at the time of the enactment of Ordinance 1708 (July 17, 1973) shall constitute the Planning Commission established by this section, and nothing in such Ordinance shall affect the tenure of any member of such Planning Commission, but all vacancies thereafter occurring in the Planning Commission shall be filled in the manner and for the tenure provided in the law governing planning commissions that shall be in effect at the time of the occurrence of such vacancies.
