(A) It has been determined on the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that certain intersections should be designated as stop intersections and that stop signs should be erected at the entrance to the stop intersections on one or more intersecting streets.
(B) The intersections described in the schedule of stop intersections in Ch. 73, Sched. II, of this code are designated as stop intersections. Stop signs shall be erected at the entrance to a stop intersection on one or more intersecting streets.
(C) Every driver shall stop in obedience to a stop sign erected at the entrance to a stop intersection before entering the intersection, except when directed to proceed by a police officer or traffic-control signal, and shall comply with all other requirements of state law concerning the duties of drivers of vehicles at the entrance to a stop intersection.
(D) A person who violates this section commits a class C ordinance violation, and a judgment may be entered against the violator.
