Within 15 days after the Town of Ellettsville's Planning Department taking action to abate a violation, the owner or party in possession of the property will be notified of the cost of abatement, including administrative costs incurred in curing the violation. The property owner may file a written protest objecting to the amount of the assessment within 10 days to the Ellettsville Town Council. If the amount due is not paid within 30 days of the decision of the Town of Ellettsville's Planning Department or by the expiration of the time in which to file an appeal, the town may file a civil action to collect said costs, plus interest and reasonable attorney's fees.
