6-4-4: NONDOMESTIC ANIMALS:
It shall be illegal for any person to own, possess, harbor, or offer for sale any nondomestic animal within the city limits. Any owner of such an animal at the effective date hereof shall have thirty (30) days in which to remove the animal from the city, after which time the city may impound the animal as provided in this chapter. Exceptions to this prohibition are as follows:
   A.   The keeping of backyard chickens as regulated by section 6-4-5-1 of this chapter.
   B.   Animals specifically trained for and actually providing assistance to the handicapped or disabled, and for those animals brought into the city as part of an operating zoo, veterinarian clinic or licensed show or exhibition. (Ord. 130, 4-28-2016, eff. 6-1-2016)
