(A) All traffic ordinances of the city and all traffic laws of the state shall be applicable to motor vehicles operating on property of Elkhart community schools located within the city, except as otherwise provided in this section.
(B) The speed limit for all motorized vehicles on school drives and access roadways as well as on all other school property, including parking areas, shall be as posted. In no event shall the lawful speed limit on such property be in excess of 25 mph.
(C) All appropriate directional signs, such as “Stop,” “Yield,” “1-way” and “No Parking,” shall be purchased by the Elkhart community schools from the Traffic Division of the Elkhart Police Department. The installation and maintenance of these signs shall be the responsibility of Elkhart community schools and all costs shall be borne by the schools.
(D) No unauthorized motor vehicles shall be allowed on property of Elkhart community schools.
(E) The operation of snowmobiles, go-carts, minibikes, off-the-road vehicles and other motor vehicles not on official school business shall be prohibited on property of Elkhart community schools.
(F) Authorized motor vehicles shall be limited to those vehicles operated by individuals who are attending Elkhart community schools or functions of the schools, on official school business or participating in approved recreational activities on the particular school site.
